Olonkho - people’s historical memory

One of the main aims of the republic leaders is to support creative, material
and spiritual heritage of the peoples inhabiting Yakutia. The more we know our
origin, the more we respect the history of our own people, the whole country and
humanity.
In this connection olonkho ”Eles Bootur” by Petr Vasilievich Ogotoev published on the
370th Incorporation of Yakutia and Russian Federation is a significant event in cultural life of
our republic.
It’s worth mentioning that father’s life-work is continued by his son, Petr Petrovich
Ogotoev who glorified the yakut musical instrument khomus all over the world.
