ash laughing out.” Thus, the evil sides of the life don’t disappear for ever and
Ogotoev’s olonkho reminds us of it.

Other peculiarities of this olonkho are different transitions of characters, a
great number of people protecting the main character, dynamic changes of the
plot, language rhythm.
For example, Eles Bootur, prisoned in Eos Tardar’s cave, asked the daughter

of the Moon Witch Yrbaldjyn to help him. She turning him into eight-edged
needle threw it away, when the gorge opened a little.
The girl-devil turning into beautiful Kyun Chomchuuk came up to him grace­
fully to accompany him to a sacred dwelling which turned into the Underworld...

Coming out of it our hero met Eos Tardar on the top of an Ice Hill...
The most surprising thing is that “Eos Tardar winding up his seven-sagened
like a lizard tongue three times round Eles Bootur’s thick neck firmly began to
strangle. “Eles Bootur asked witch Kuo Kustuktai to help him and she “turning

into a sharp knife chopped off the long tongue of the devil...”
It’s a wonderful find!
In the end Eles Bootur gained the upper hand over Eos Tardar. He set free his
beloved wife, Syralyngsa Kuo and ninety-nine strong heroes...The happy life is

going on...
It’s nice that we’re able to read and wonder a rich imagination and great idea
of the olonkho to day. It’s a great event that Peter Ogotoev’s olonkho “Eles
Bootur Having Black Bear Horse” in three languages (Sakha, Russian, English) is

published. Let the Sakha nation’s cultural contribution to the World Culture be
continued !
