His spear into the ground
With a sharp point up,
Climbing a tall larch
Like a swift squirrel,
Aiming at the sharp point,
He fell down, but
His spear failed to pierce
His thick skin,
It only bent like a shaving knife.
Flying into a rage,
Grasping silky long
Seven-sagened hair
Of his three sisters,
Rushed to the violent
Windy South side.
After three days of jumping
He trod on and made a hole
Of seven sagenes deep.
From the southern forest
Bringing some dead trees
Shoved into the hole,
From the northern forest
Bringing some dry trees,
Made a fire up to the sky,
Stepping into the center of it,
He disappeared.
Three poor sisters,
Seeing it, burst into tears,
Taking pity on the burned brother.
But three days later
The fire began to die down,
When their red-faced brother
Jumped out of the fire.
Getting angry with the moon,
Shouted at the top of his voice.
