Under the bright sun,
You will set eagle eyes on:
When pressed, not bulged out —
A broad back it has!
When pushed, not bent —
A great punch it has!
When trod down, not stooped —
Strong shoulders it has!
It has trees chopped down,
Deep waters diminishing abundance
To dried out,
The Sun brightly rising up,
The white-faced moon
Floating slowly,
Sheer rocks chaining,
High mountains surrounding,
Great hills jutting out,
Stormy seas here and there,
Infinite ocean below,
Burning fire in the center,
Heaving dusty surface
Covered with grass land —
The Middle World it is.
Happy life is centred here,
Abundance is concentrated here,
What a wonderful land it is:
Seventy-seven murmuring streams
Flowing side by side
To water generous soil;
Eighty-eight light-watered
Mighty streams run
Along extensive alaases2
Ninety-nine powerful rivers
Roaring heavily disturb
A flourishing land,
It’s Tuimaarytta-Mother
Covering forty miles round.
It can’t be compared
With anything more beautiful,
It can be seen from
